Overview:  Originally airing from 1966 to 1969, the series follows Captain James T. Kirk, Mr. Spock, Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy, and the crew of the USS Enterprise as they explore the galaxy on a five-year mission to discover strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.

Set in the 23rd century, Star Trek: The Original Series presents a hopeful vision of humanity’s future in which Earth has moved beyond many of its old divisions and joined other worlds as part of the United Federation of Planets. The Enterprise travels through unexplored regions of space, encountering alien civilizations, mysterious phenomena, dangerous creatures, powerful artificial intelligences, and rival powers such as the Klingon and Romulan Empires.
