I decided to give this book a whirl since it was a steal, especially for the Kindle edition. Let me tell you, it definitely held my attention and was a quick read. The story follows an aspiring writer who will stop at nothing to get his book published. And when I say nothing, I mean he goes as far as dressing up in a ridiculous outfit to try and manipulate a governor with a peculiar taste. But things take a dark turn when Eddie finds himself wanted for murder. Now, that’s one heck of a plot twist!
While I enjoyed the book overall, I did have a few gripes. The storyline was a bit predictable, and the characters seemed to follow the script a little too closely. However, I did appreciate the character development and the satisfying resolution at the end.
On the downside, the sense of danger in the book never quite felt real, and the story lacked a certain polish, like an indie film with that rough-around-the-edges charm. But hey, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise entertaining read.
