The story follows Rin. He is at the academy, learning to be an exorcist. Until he investigates a disturbance. This leads him to ace a ghost as well as another person who takes his sword. This is going to mean some repercussions later. He has to try and get information without alerting the others that he has been hired to just that thing. After this story ends, the rest of the book is rather boring. Almost like the first half of the book was exciting and the second half of the story was more about setting up for the next arc in the story.

Overall, I got bored by the second half of this book. The first half is excellent. The second half of the book felt like filer.
