Overview: Experienced waitress Max Black meets her new co-worker, former rich-girl Caroline Channing, and puts her skills to the test at an old but re-emerging Brooklyn diner. Despite her initial distaste for Caroline, Max eventually softens and the two team up for a new business venture.

As far as pilot episodes go, this one certainly has a lot of ground to cover before it can hit its stride. Trying to cram so much into such a short episode made it feel a bit claustrophobic, don’t you think? And those segments felt like they were over before they even began! Perhaps brevity is the name of the game for this series.
The humor in this episode definitely skates on the edge of maturity. Overall, I’m intrigued to see where this show goes in the next few episodes. I’ll definitely be tuning in to see how it all unfolds.
