Of Note: Ben Stiller played Jennifer Aniston’s boyfriend in an episode of Friends (2004) as the one who yells at everything.
The tale revolves around a risk manager who lives life by the book. He’s well aware of the potential dangers lurking around every corner, calculating the odds with precision. He’s meticulously planned out his future, even going as far as carefully selecting his future spouse. But alas, his perfect plan goes awry on the first day of his honeymoon when he catches his chosen wife in a compromising position with the scuba instructor. Enter Polly, the unexpected wildcard in this carefully orchestrated game of life.
Now, I must admit, I’m not usually a Ben Stiller enthusiast, but I must say, he really nails the role of the risk manager who’s just asking to be cheated on. And Jennifer Aniston? She effortlessly embodies the free-spirited Polly, adding a touch of spice to the mix. The cast as a whole delivers a perfect balance of emotion and humor, making the predictable storyline surprisingly enjoyable.
Sure, you can see the ending coming from a mile away, but who doesn’t love a good rom-com with a side of salsa dancing? This film exceeded my expectations, offering a delightful blend of charm and entertainment. It’s a chick flick that even the most skeptical viewer can appreciate. Cheers to unexpected surprises and a good story well told!
