House Ikaru – Takona
History is written by the victors, but the greatest and most cunning of those victors let other claim authorship – if only in appearance. Recognizing this simple truth, House Ikaru required an archivist both to accumulate the increasingly vast folds of data stream, and to ensure the immortality of its noble house. House Ikaru found the woman they were looking for in Takona Tetsuki on a calm autumn evening – one should not that all other sources consider the start of the First Great Trade War to be two weeks beyond this date.
Takona had been observed while working as a young but brilliant AI programmer at the very forefront of her field. Her mental acuity and multi-faceted levels of concentration demonstrated a certain raw potential. But she was young and untrained. When summoned to meet with the highest tiers of Ikaru’s lordship, her peers and mentors alike were astonished, outraged even. Who was this girl to write, to guard their house’s sacred history? They asked. These naysayers failed to grasp the beautiful impossibility of the task she had been gifted.
House Ikaru controls a number of subsidiaries that is most easily expressed with an exponent, and it control a wealth that cannot be articulated by any single form of currency. Its machinations exceed the comprehension of the human mind. And so Takona realized that the complete record of Ikaru would not be authored by an individual mind, but by an AI with a memory bank lager than any currently standing structure. She would be its model. It would be her doom.
At the heart of Shogin city sits the Kufun Sobiru, the tallest corporate structure still standing in the Pacific Rim. A myriad suite of the structure’s spiraling floors contain the processors of the AI program charged with housing the entire history of the glorious House Ikaru. In fact, the Kufun Sobiru is the sole residence of the AI designated Takona, which is, in turn, connected to the Aetherium via a custom wetware that allows Takona, to interact with the Synaptic Interface Mechanism by imitating electrical impulses that are so intricate they appear to the wetware as human brainwaves. The remaining floors are still a hive of activity, but only a handful of highly trained technicians are allowed to the mid-level floors, one ow which is rumored to hold the cybernetically entombed husk of the eternal Takona Tetsuki.
When encountered in the Aetherium, Takona, tends to have a stultifying effect on all of those around her. The virtual air in the Aetherium appears to pause, as if to wait for her delicate but methodical attention. As she moves across the Aetherial expanses, Takona, adopts various postures or attitudes of fluid mechanical precision. She is constantly in motion even if the spaces around her are not, and within her kinetic stances that perceptive can trace the long and storied history of House Ikaru itself.
