The story takes place on Valentine’s Day. Everyone is either hating the day or it is that special day that others love. That does not mean the work of the first responders ends. From a marriage proposal that has an unexpected hiccup to someone with mental issues dealing with the day. The other good piece of the story is Abby and Buck though I don’t think that story had to go in the direction it did. I have always liked Abby as a character and now they are really pushing the whole being on the other side of the phone call a little to much. This is the second episode now that they have done that. My biggest complaint with this episode is how the section that deals with Athena and the Lonely Hearts Club. Once the situation changes I really can’t see it playing out the way it did. I also can’t imagine a new arrival on scene being able to wander around frantically the way she did. I really made Athena seem incompetent.
Overall, the episode had a few issues. Normally I like the holiday if you want to call Valentines that, episodes. Though Valentines episodes never as good as Thanksgiving and Christmas episodes of the days gone by. The big issue that bothered me well past watching this episode is how they handled the main part of the story dealing with Athena.
