1942 Video Game Review
Features: 1942 is set in the Pacific theater of World War II. The goal is to reach Tokyo and destroy the entire Japanese air fleet.
Recommendations: 1943 Battle of Midway
It is hard to judge a game that is this old. So instead of talking about how great the graphics are, it is more about is the game fun. In this game, you are a fighter pilot and are taking on the entire Japanese air fleet. Level after level you are faced with all kinds of enemies and bosses. You must destroy them before they destroy you. Some give you power ups and others give you points. The really nice thing about this game is that you can continue forever if you really want to keep playing. I found that many times the controls created more of the problems, as the ship didn’t always move smoothly. Other than that, I did have fun playing the game. I even had fun introducing this game to my son, who also enjoyed playing this retro game.
Overall, this was a fun experience and took me back to my childhood. Is it a great game by today’s standards, not really. It is a game that offers a fun experience and one that we enjoyed playing together.
