In the beginning of the film, when Red asks the two birds what they rate the birthday cake he delivers, he asks how many stars out of three. This is a reference to the game. The highest score you can get is three stars.
The hors d’oeuvres at the party are pigs in a blanket.
Unlike the characters featured in the games, the animation team decided to give the film counterparts animated arms, from the shape of the wings, and legs, to further animate the performances.
