In The Turtles and the Hot-Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X, Shredder once again escalates his war against the turtles and Splinter—this time by tearing open a portal to the infamous Dimension X. His plan is simple: pull an army from a war-hungry dimension and finally overwhelm his enemies. As with most of Shredder’s schemes, things don’t go exactly as planned. Instead of a fearsome invasion force, he ends up with a group of punk teenagers and a couple of loyal Krang followers.

On paper, the concept should be wild and fun, but for me, this episode just didn’t fully land. It felt a bit too early in the series to introduce interdimensional characters into the mix, especially when the core conflict with Shredder and the Foot Clan was still finding its footing. For the first time this season, the episode also felt longer than it needed to be, with the pacing dragging in places rather than building momentum.

By the end, the episode left me feeling oddly hollow, as if the story wrapped up without much payoff. That said, with only one episode left in the first season, there’s still plenty to look forward to. Even if this chapter stumbles a bit, the anticipation for how the season finale ties everything together remains high.
