By the method laid out in Gaius’s On Rulership, this young Kingfisher cousin would have almost as viable a claim to the throne of Talon Hill as Gaius himself, despite seeming barely older than a nestling in Gaius’s eyes. Thus, Gaius’s assassin attempted to murder them, but they got away with their life, barely. Now they have banded with their lover, Diana White Talon, and her criminal friends, to try to take Gaius down before he can make his claim and ascend to the throne.
