Bloodwretch
An efficient, fast-moving, hard-hitting model with a low cost and several clever offensive tricks. The Bloodwretch provides significant offensive potential and speed, while also providing valuable card resources.
The Bloodwretch is a Mercenary and can therefore be found in any Crew.
The Bloodwretch has a high Wk and Cg, but no special movement tricks.
The Bloodwretch is all about melee combat.
Its (1) Inhuman Claws attack is extremely brutal for its cost, with a short range but a high Ml value and very solid stat line. This attack has no triggers.
The Bloodwretch can enhance this attack in two ways. First, the Frenzied Charge Ability gives a positive twist to Attack Flips on a Charge Action. Second, it has a boost action, (1) The Rage Builds, that gives it +1 damage on its attack, and when it deals damage allows it to draw two cards and discard one. Note that you can discard any card with this, not just one of the two cards you drew.
Note that generally the Bloodwretch can do only one of these. If it’s engaged, it can Rage Builds and take a single swing with extra card boost. If not, it can Charge and gain an attack bonus. If the model somehow gains Fast, though, it can boost up and then Charge to gain both benefits.
When the Bloodwretch kills an enemy model, it also heals 2 damage from On the Prowl. It needs to keep killing to remain resilient.
The Bloodwretch has a very good Df and an average Wp. It is also immune to damage from pulse effects thanks to itsThick Skin.
Other than a high Df score, its main form of resilience is the healing it gets from killing thanks to On the Prowl.
Note that unlike most Nephilim models, the Bloodwretch doesn’t have Black Blood but its thick skin makes it immune to the damage from other models’ black blood.
The Bloodwretch has several good maneuvers, but it’s mostly a straightforward model. It moves fast and attacks well, and heals up when it does. Try to keep a lot of good targets lined up. Charge when you can. Use The Rage Builds when you can because it helps your whole Crew thanks to the card draw.
If you can find a way to give a Bloodwretch Fast, by all means do so. That way, a Bloodwretch can charge up with The Rage Builds and still make multiple attacks and gain more cards.
