Andy Stone – Music description: Imagine a dinner party hosted by the Beatles, with a guest list that includes XTC, Squeeze, The Zombies and Kinks, Aimee Mann, and Elvis Costello. That’s a metaphoric taste of Andy Stone’s music, or Litpop — melodic, hook-driven songs with narrative lyrics and a sound both retro and contemporary.

Andy Stone is a songwriter and plays guitar and bass, and some keyboards. He’s performed in a variety of bands in RI, Boston (including a popular Beatles tribute band) NYC, and Washington, DC. In the tradition of his influences – songwriter – oriented artists such as the Beatles and other British Invasion bands, as well as Squeeze, XTC, and Aimee Mann, Andy thinks writes thematically, likening his songs as short stories put to music. And as a published novelist, this was a natural extension of his work.

Andy just released his debut EP, In The Coffee Shop, When, which is available for download. The EP features longtime friend and former Epic recording artist Danny Malone (Diving For Pearls) on vocals. In The Coffee Shop, When, has been garnering much podcast and Internet radio play – with a true indie spirit, Andy makes all his songs podsafe. the EP is available for download at Rhapsody, Napster, emusic, Sony Connect, Myspace www.myspace.com/andystonerolls and through his facebook page and is coming soon to iTunes.

Andy lives in Washington, D.C. where he is currently working on a full length album.
