‘Tis the season for crime-solving in this festive tale that unfolds over Christmas. Lindsay finds herself torn between her job and her family, a classic dilemma that seems to follow her in these books like a persistent shadow. The pressure is on as a notorious criminal starts making ominous plans for a big heist on Christmas day, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. Lindsay and the SFPD must sift through the chaos to separate fact from fiction.

Meanwhile, Cindy is on her own mission to uncover the truth behind an undocumented man wrongly accused of a crime. With the help of her friends, she dives headfirst into the mystery, determined to set things right.

While the story starts off a bit slow, it eventually picks up speed – though perhaps not with the explosive bang you might expect. Still, it’s a quick read that won’t demand too much of your time, making it an easy choice for fans looking to continue the series. And hey, at least Jacobi manages to stay relevant, right?
