Whatever Sithicus was or could have been, it will never be. The dramatic ruins of a fabulous elven realm cover a land realm forested by gigantic trees and burning with the flames of a forgotten magical disaster. Scattered communities appear among the dilapidation, the domain’s predominantly elf population living like strangers amid structures to which they have no connection. At dusk, people withdraw, hiding from the domain’s true residents: the shadows.
By night, the shadows of Sithicus reenact forgotten lives or mimic the deeds of questing knights, devoted lovers, and lurking monsters. Most of these shadows are harmless, if unnerving, and seem not to notice other beings, Some, however, resent the domain’s other residents and torment the living.
Though few in the domain realize it, Sithicus has ties to the world of Krynn on the Material Plane. Ruins suggests the work of elves from that world, while the night sky blazes with the five-headed dragon constellation of the deity Talkhisis. As on Krynn, the black moon Nuitari is visible only to evil beings. But the domain’s clearest tie to Krynn is its Darklord, the accursed knight Lord Soth.
