Healer’s Mace

Uncommon Mace
Requires Attunement

The Healer’s Mace is a finely crafted magical weapon associated with faith, life, and restoration. It is often carried by clerics, priests, and other servants of deities connected to healing or the preservation of life. The mace itself functions as a holy symbol, allowing an attuned wielder to use it as a divine focus while casting spells.

A creature must spend a short rest attuning to the Healer’s Mace before accessing its magical properties.

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon.

Holy Symbol: The Healer’s Mace can be used as a holy symbol by a servant of a deity associated with life or healing.

Font of Life: While the Healer’s Mace is on your person, whenever you cast a spell that restores hit points, such as Cure Wounds or Healing Word, the mace gains 1 charge.

The mace can hold a maximum of 3 charges at one time.

While holding the mace, you can expend its stored charges to cast one of the following spells:

3 Charges — Mass Healing Word
You expend all 3 charges to cast Mass Healing Word.

2 Charges — Prayer of Healing
You expend 2 charges to cast Prayer of Healing.

1 Charge — Curative Spell
You expend 1 charge to cast a curative spell granted by the mace.

Any healing or curative spell cast by expending charges from the Healer’s Mace does not generate additional charges for the weapon. Only healing spells cast normally by the wielder can replenish its Font of Life.

The Healer’s Mace rewards characters who regularly use healing magic by storing a portion of that divine energy for later use. In a difficult battle, the wielder can draw upon the stored power of the mace to provide additional healing when the party needs it most.

Its ability to serve as both a magical weapon and a holy symbol makes the Healer’s Mace especially valuable to clerics and other divine spellcasters devoted to preserving life.
