I had heard there was a movie by Justin Lin that was a prequel to the character Han found in the Fast and Furious movie franchise. So I thought why not give it a try. It is clearly low budget and clearly before Justin Lin was a big time director. Still it has a somewhat polished feel compared to a lot of works early in directors careers. The story follows a group of Asian teens looking that a super smart. They have a choice to use their smarts for good or for evil, or a combination of those. Quickly they realize they can pretty much do what they want using their smarts to get them out of trouble or avoid event getting into trouble. Though of course a love interest comes into play and this changes a few things.
Overall this was not a terrible story. I didn’t mind the acting all that much as many of the actors are not mega stars you find in big production movies. The movie really is what you would think on the surface. An early movie in a notorious directors career.
