When the director of an intergalactic defense organization crashes into the Earth’s atmosphere, the X-Men spring into action. but while regrouping following their rescue mission, the team is confronted by a former ally who quickly transforms into a mutant-hunting Sentinel, one of the X-Men’s most reviled foes and a symbol of their persecution.
The X-Men must fight back against this new, flesh-and-bone- version of the Sentinels, while also figuring out how one of their own was turned against them. What’s more, the team finds itself face-to-face with the invading Brood. What is the connection between these attacks? And will it prove to much for the X-Men to handle?

Recommendations:
In this volume, the team is taking on a new enemy. Before that, they need to save an agent of SWORD that is falling from the sky. After that, they must deal with a sentinel, and then they can figure out what the heck is going on. The story itself is one of the more interesting stories in the Astonishing X-Men series. I really felt like in this story, the team has come together and things are starting to settle down for them a bit. If the story is good, then what don’t I like about it. I really didn’t like many of the panels. I think the artwork in this book could have been done better. Furthermore, I was not a big fan of several pages in a row where things just were not all that exciting or the imaging was confusing.
Overall I did enjoy the story but at times got frustrated with the artwork and how it was presented. I still think this was one of the better books in the series, so am hopeful that the next couple will be good as well.
