Operation 6: Service Denial

Aetherium

Intel
Mankind’s attempt to duplicate the effect of the nodes have never truly been perfected. Sometimes pylons malfunction and user find themselves arriving in a completely different destination than the one they had planned.

Server Setup
the server consists of 2 large, 2 medium, and 2 small schemas.

Deployment
Player’s do not have starting pylons in this operation, instead, setup all Schemes, nodes, and pylons as normal. Once this is done, the players begin to place their deployment tokens in order to determine where their programs enter the game. The player that won the diagnostics roll places one of their 4 deployment tokens, face down, next to one pylon. Players alternate placing their own deployment tokens at pylons until all tokes are places. Each player may only place a token at a pylon that they do not already have a token placed. When this is finished, each pylon should have 2 tokens near it, 1 for each player. Once all tokens are placed, flip all of them face up.

Objective
Control as nodes and pylons as you can by endgame.

Endgame
Both players have completed 5 re-calibrations or one player has control of both Nodes and at least 2 pylons, whichever comes first.

Victory Condition
Each node is worth 2 vp
Each pylon is worth 1 vp

Special rules
Deployment tokens
Each of the 4 deployment tokes has one of the 4 target symbols on it. When a players draws a card from their PD, they must immediately roll 1 combat dice. The program that is activating will enter the server from the pylon that is marked by that player’s deployment token that has the same target symbol as the player rolled.

Before the program activates it must be places on the server. All models from the program must be placed in unoccupied squares that are adjacent to the pylon. Models cannot be places in impassable squares. If any of the models cannot be places, then the entire program is kept off the server until it’s next activation, and the current player’s activation ends. They do not draw another card from their PAD, and play continues to their opponent as normal. Once a program is on the server, it will no longer roll at the start of its activation.
