House Ikaru Avatar – Entropy

Within the countless branches, subsidiaries, and partnerships of House Ikaru lay the endless labyrinth of secrets. Hidden assets and top-secret projects are the norm to House Ikaru’s corporate behemoth; however, to the outside world all appears forever tranquil, legitimate. Through the countless data flashes of promotion, pomp, and advertisement that blanket the corporation interests, it is nearly impossible for the average citizen to discern the truth.

With its unfathomable fortunes Hosue Ikaru has led the advancement of technology: both in the real world and in the Aetherium.  What few people truly know is how far Ikaru has been willing to transgress moral boundaries in order to achieve its ends.  Human experimentation blended with technological advances led to some of the greatest achievements; however, it has also led to one of the company’s darkest secrets.

Entropy was spawned from one of the nameless experiments that House Ikaru conducted in its quest for technological dominance of the Aetherium.  Although no one, save perhaps the Central Processor truly knows who or what Entropy is or once was, Entropy represents a a rare public glimpse of House Ikaru’s dark secrets.  The program rarely leaves Ikaru-controlled Aetherium.  Those that have encountered the program and survived speak of one of the strangest creations they have ever witnessed – seemingly both a mindless and a sentient amalgamation of human emotions and mechanical precision.

Whenever Entropy treads, chaos follows.  Its unnervingly inhuman arm opens to reveal a writhing mass of cables, plugs, and invasive ports.  When operating in public, Entropy often appears able to infiltrate other programs, causing them to short circuit, to slow down and to sever connections to their real-world counterparts.  When in the proximity of other Ikaru programs, Entropy integrates its weapon into its allies, upgrading them to move faster and hit harder.

Attempts to cripple or terminate Entropy have been met with terrible results.  Opposing programs often find themselves suffering unexplainable feedback whenever they openly attack entropy.  The mere presence of Entropy causes wild distortions within the system.  Massive fluctuations can cause even the most skilled user or advanced program connection problems.

Whatever the source or cause of Entropy may be, its allegiance to House Ikaru seems complete, as long as it remains that way, all who oppose  them should be fearful for the feature.
