Goliath – Nanomei Omni Function
For the masses everyday life in the material world is not a pleasant experience. The Trade Wars wreaked havoc on the world’s economies. Many governments have collapsed and untold numbers of businesses have folded upon the fragile structures that sustained them. The world is polluted and over populated. Most citizens have a daily grind that consists of a toxic, dead-end job followed by bills and taxes that leave many barely scraping by. The Aetherium was supposed to fix that.
The potential of the Aetherium was only limited to mankind’s imagination. The system was meant to herald a new golden age for humanity, creating a world where everyone would have ample opportunity to thrive. Instead it has become a hallowed promise, a digital frontier that is now in a constant state of dissent. However, to the average user they still cling to this illusionary paradise. Most people spend what free moments they can escape reality by plugging into the virtual reality.
The Nanomei needed a true powerhouse in its ranks. They required something that could go toe-to-toe with their enemies and the Goliath is the answer. Partly pre-written, Goliaths are programs that house a user just as much as a user manifests as one. Usually taken from the lowliest and most broken individuals they can find, the Nanomei offer unparalleled power and experience to those who would otherwise be unable to attain it themselves. By linking with a Goliath, even the most unstable or rudimentary users find themselves gifted with new skills and talents. This power comes at a price, however, as the psycho-alternators and aggression accumulators take a staggering toll on the human consciousness, slowly draining the very life out of the user. Most gladly accept this trade, with little alternative.
When unleashed Goliaths are monstrous individuals with an unbridled desire for destruction. Towering above their fellow Nanomei, they lumber about smashing aside anything in their way. Their blows are so powerful they have been known to knock other programs clear through the boundaries of a Node or Pylon’s control zone, sending the unfortunate target to a bleak end in the quantum noise. A Goliath’s aggression accumulator fuels its rage, converting damage into more power and allowing these brutes to crush all who oppose them.
