Prime Commandant Issac “ole faithful” Spyder
Prime Commandant Spyder is one of the very few echelon individuals to have worked his way to a position of power from within the militarized ranks. He is no bureaucrat, but rather a man of action. Early in his career, Spyder was marked for a modest life as a junior commissioned officer. His aptitude tests suggested a latent potential but, insofar as his profile showed, he had no real talent for Aetherial manipulation. He would never take, or so they said to the rigors of psycho-somic training needed to thrive, and to climb the social ranks.
His first days in command showed differently when, in response to an extremely violent subsect of the Dalferno Insurrection, he cast aside the simple upgrades that had been afforded his junior rank and privilege. Instead, Spyder walked directly into riotous peril shoulder to shoulder with his troops. His genius and his power lay precisely in his unwillingness to rely upon the shortcuts and neural integers afforded upper ranks. While other officers used these software upgrades as a crutch in the Aetherium, Spyder, by contrast, offered only his own bloody-mindedness as proof of his ability and leadership. It was a brutal day, but Spyder personally saw to the capture and dissolution of the Dalferno agents behind the insurrection, not one of whom was heard from again.
From that moment forward, Spyder has commanded absolute admiration from within his ranks. He never asks anything of his troops that he himself would not do. And while he has rightly earned a fearsome reputation, he is also known to be fair.
Perhaps most importanly, Prime Commandant Spyder has worked tirelessly to ensure that the Aximite operatives within the Aetherium do not become overly complacent or reliant upon the software at their disposal. He believes in the power of the individual will and its ability to serve the betterment of Axiom doctrines, His own life is the greatest testament.
In fact, one of Spyder’s most marked accomplishments has been his creative simplicity. Spyder wrote the code for the judicata mauls (also know simply as TRG – tactical riot gear) that are now standard issue among the Praetorian ranks. With no formal training other than that offered to him by hands-on experience, Spyder crafted what has become an essential cog in the Axiom machine. The philosophy was simple from the outset: win through intimate aggression. Use only an armament that can be lied upon time and time and time again. Do not delay or hesitate. Do not hope to subdue without complete and unmitigated dominance.
Even his rivals among the secularized ranks admire Prime Commandant Spyder’s resolve. They may not genuinely view him as a peer – his humble origins and straightforward manner preclude that – but nevertheless, they recognize and respect his steadfast talent and career. He allows not other option.
Prime Commandant Spyder understands the commoner. He understands the importance of order. He is willing to execute both with equal efficiency. Therein lies his ability to lead.
