Gaius Kingfisher
Gaius Kingfisher is the third Kingfisher pressing a claim to the Talon Hill throne. He is a rich merchant and traditionalist. He is an ambitious bird, though he claims not to seek personal glory; instead, he pursues the advancement of Talon Hill. He tells himself that he just aims to put the clearing back on the correct traditional path. To this end, he has drawn forth an archaic method of determining succession that makes him the heir, and he has hired an assassin, Adrian Hookbeak, to remove those who might interfere with his claim.
