Trivia

The paintings featured in the story are: “Woman with Parasol and Child” by Renoir, 1874, “A Friend in Need” (Dogs Playing Poker) by Cassius Coolidge, 1903, and “Free Form” by Jackson Pollock, 1946.

The screenplay for this film was featured in the 2011 Blacklist, a list of the “most liked” unmade scripts of the year.

Although the film was shot on location in Atlanta, Georgia, the film actually is set to take place in Plainfield, Illinois, with scenes in downtown Chicago, Illinois. Also, the high school Dana mentions (Naperville North) is an actual high school, which Bob Odenkirk graduated from. The school’s math team has won 16 state championships.

Christian uses a Barrett M82A1M sniper rifle during shooting practice and later during a gunfight.

Goofs

The two people that Christian kills with his Barrett M82A1 .50 caliber rifle via head shots are only shown falling down with some blood splatter. In reality, bullets of that size would have completely blown their heads apart, as demonstrated earlier on in the movie when Christian is using cantaloupes as target practice for his Barrett on the Rices’ farm.
