Overview: Shura Kirigakure has always been one of Rin and Yukio’s closest and most trusted friends and Mentors. But her past is a mystery. When Shura suddenly goes missing, Mephisto sends the Okymura brother to the cold and wintery backcountry of Aomori Prefecture to find her. The journey is a chance for Rin and Yukio to talk over recent events, and try to sort out where things stand between them. Out in the frozen hills, Shura reaches her destination, and a meeting with an entity who will impose an ancient curse upon her.

This book was a step in the right direction as far as content. It has Rin and Yukio getting some time together to process what life has been like as of late. All of this time is while they are traveling to investigate Shura’s disappearance. What they might be one my favorite story lines in the entire series. My only regret is that this is black and white and not full color. I can only imagine what it would have looked like if it was color, it would have popped off the page.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the story, both the parts with Rin and Yukio as well as the parts with Shura. They both are great stories and really put this book in a good place to be all around good.
