Visionary writer/artist Paul Pope presents a dark, dystopian world devoid of privacy – one filled with government conspiracies, psychic police, holographic caller id, and absolutely no room for “secret identities.” A SCI-FI future where everything is known by everyone – yet there is one bizarre anomaly….The Batman!

I want to start out by talking about the artwork in this book. It is something that some will like and others will dislike. I fall in the category that dislikes it. To me, the images appear as if viewing through a thin layer of water. They are not real sharp and at times appear distorted. The story does have a lot of mystery behind it but is still a normal batman story set in the future. I finished this book only because I wanted to find out who Batman was. I can’t say that I am real happy with what little they do give us. Furthermore, I did like the writer’s take on Robin and how Gordon was done. For the most part the story is ok but was not enough for me to get over the artwork.
