Rating: 3 Star

Let me start by saying that this film didn’t quite tickle my funny bone as much as its predecessor. Sure, there were some hilarious moments that had me laughing so hard I almost cried (no pun intended), but overall, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

One thing that caught me off guard was the attempt at character development. It seemed a bit out of place in a film that’s meant to be taken lightly. While some characters, like Kevin and Jim, did undergo some major changes, it felt like it happened a little too late in the game. And poor Oz, he was just there for the ride with no real growth to speak of.

It felt like the writers had some killer comedy scenes up their sleeves, but then felt the need to throw in some serious stuff to balance it out. Personally, I was hoping for more of the light-hearted humor that made the first film so enjoyable. Instead, this sequel had a more somber, “things change” vibe that left me feeling a bit meh.

That being said, there are definitely a few scenes that will leave you shocked and entertained. So, while I may not be rushing out to add this film to my collection, it’s still worth a watch for the sheer shock value alone.
