The series returns after a mid-season break. This opens with a 15-year-old birthday party, where she discovers someone she thinks is dead. The 118 must try and find out what happened. The episode also has a bomb being placed in a family’s vehicle, like it was in the movie Speed. If they slow down, the truck will explode. Of course, the bomb squad can’t do anything, while the truck is moving and the truck can’t stop. In comes the 118 and another department to try and get the people out of the vehicle. Eddie really starts to struggle with his 9-5 job. I really didn’t like the way another dispatcher responded to his being there, considering he saved a bunch of lives. Speaking of disappointing, Buck is another one. Self sabotage is a thing for Buck, and it appears he is heading down that road again.
Overall, this was a good episode. The messing of story and action was good. The first part with the birthday party seemed the least important since it really had nothing to do with the episode or the story really. Other than, it introduced a new guy. Not a terrible episode, but after a break you have some expectations of something big and this didn’t necessarily do that.
