You would think that after the epic episode that the last one was, that this one had to take a drop. Well, it didn’t do that. In this episode, the call center goes down. Not just the power but the whole system. With no end in sight for the outage, the center has to pull out old school methods to keep things moving. During this outage, the city experiences all kinds of emergencies. From accidents, to births in the lobby, to a gas leak. This keeps the station and the crew hoping, especially when things get mixed up and directions sent incorrectly. Several of the emergencies are really intense. I am once again amazed and how well they can pull that off in an hour episode. Even with the intensity of the emergencies, the writer still finds time to work in some character development. I especially liked the way Bobby works out his development. Though it was predictable, it was still good to see that some light is working its way into Bobby’s life and his story. I hope that they don’t pull the rug out from under him.
Overall, this was a great episode. It had some intense moments, some great character development, and some lighter moments that kept things moving. They certainly have hit on a formula that works, brought in the right cast, and just keep producing some of the best moments on television.
