This episode has a lot going on. From a major car wreck, Maddie’s pregnancy, and some challenges of being a foster parent. That is maybe where they really made me dislike this episode. As I said in the last review is that I spent a decade as a foster home. So I get pretty protective when the process is not represented right. In all of my experiences, over a dozen, we always met the parents. The foster families work with the bio parents to help them move toward reunification. Of the dozen or so kids we had, we worked with all the parents and all but one was reunified with parents. It was sad to see them go, but also felt good to know we had an influence on these kids lives. The other story with the car wreck tries to be the main story, but it struggles with that. I do have to say, they put together an awesome set and really made it feel like a real car wreak. Of course, the real star of the episode is the continuation of Maddie’s pregnancy. Again, this episode is great at pulling all the stories together.

Overall, I had a hard time getting over some of the clear foster care missteps.  Unless you have fostered children, this most likely won’t bother you.  Then what you would find is a very powerful, very emotional episode that takes you to a lot of emotional places.  It will cause you to smile, to cry, and to hope for things to turn out for the best.
