This wonder, both sides, is really geared to take advantage of the Leader’s expansion.
Side A
This card does not produce a resource but allows you to recruit your leaders for free. This means during the drafting phase, picking high cost leaders that will benefit your strategy is the way to go. Going for Bilkis lets you get any one resource per turn from the bank for 1 coin. Imhotep could also be useful to get the wonders built, allowing for one less resource. The leaders can also give a huge advantage to science: Archimedes makes science cards cost one less resource making it a must as the first leader card – followed by Aristotle who makes science collections of different all 3 symbols worth 3 more victory points taking it to 10 points – finally playing Hypatia makes every green card in your city worth 1 victory point, this combination could score huge points. Ceasar can be good depending on what others are doing with military. Cleopatra and slightly lesser would be Nefertiti for free victory points.
Side B
This is slightly trickier because it also gives bonuses to neighbors. You get to build your leaders for two less, while your neighbors get to build for one less. Building your wonder gives you coins and access to four more leaders. The second and third stage gives you victory points plus the ability to put an extra leader into play that turn. This ultimately allows you to have five leaders in play. the timing on this can get tricky and luck does become a factor. If you can get Solomon you can use this to play Solomon at any time that suits you to get a card from the discard pile. This could allow you to discard a card in age two that you would not be able to play, play Solomon, put the card into play for free. If the diplomat’s guild would come up you will want to play it or discard it so that your neighbor does not get the benefit of the extra leader cards you are putting into play.
