I was a huge fan of the movie Hangover, so when I heard that this new flick was from the same writers, I was pumped! The plot follows a group of old high school buddies reuniting to celebrate a 21st birthday. The catch? Poor Jeff wasn’t clued in on the plan and has a crucial interview the next day. Talk about bad timing!
After some convincing, Jeff reluctantly joins the party, but things take a wild turn when he passes out. Now, his pals are left scrambling to get him home before his big interview. Cue the chaos – an unruly buffalo, a rowdy Latino sorority, a fierce male cheerleader, and even the cops get thrown into the mix.
Unfortunately, the movie starts to unravel with wonky timing and inconsistent character reactions. One minute it’s 11pm, then suddenly it’s 3am – talk about a time warp! And don’t get me started on the characters flip-flopping from enemies to BFFs in the blink of an eye. It’s like the writers couldn’t decide who these people really were!
Despite its flaws, the cast shines bright. The villains are delightfully hateable, and the heroes are easy to root for. But the overall inconsistency of the movie leaves much to be desired. Sure, there are some laughs sprinkled throughout, but there are also long stretches of crickets chirping.
It’s almost as if the writers had a bunch of great jokes in mind but couldn’t quite connect the dots. In the end, this movie falls short of its potential. So, grab some popcorn, buckle up for a bumpy ride, and prepare for a comedy that’s as unpredictable as a drunk buffalo on the loose!
