Rating: 2 Star

Caroline once again can’t help but meddle—this time diving head-first into other people’s tax returns. When she promises to help Earl get a bigger refund, things start light-hearted enough. But her focus quickly shifts to Max, who shockingly has never filed taxes before. What follows is a flurry of sarcastic banter between the two roommates that, while funny at first, starts to feel a bit overdone.

Thankfully, the episode gets a much-needed lift from Sophie and Oleg, whose hilarious moments of comic relief keep things from completely falling flat. Despite their energy, this episode doesn’t quite deliver the spark and fast-paced wit that fans have come to expect from the series.

Overall: This episode has its laughs and classic Max-Caroline chemistry, but it feels a little uneven compared to the show’s usual charm. It’s worth a watch for Sophie and Oleg’s antics alone—but don’t expect the high energy of the series’ stronger episodes.
