2 Bedroom 1 Bath is the cinematic equivalent of a dark and stormy night—moody, atmospheric, and occasionally makes you wonder why you didn’t just stay in. The film follows a young couple eager to start a family in what seems like the perfect new home: a charming apartment. Naturally, it’s cursed. Because nothing screams “starter family bliss” like whispering walls and ghostly forebodings.
From the first scene, the movie leans hard into its creepy aesthetic—flickering lights, ominous shadows, and that nagging feeling that Zillow didn’t list the place’s ghost problem. What starts as an intriguing psychological thriller slowly stumbles into familiar horror territory. Think The Shining—if it were set in an overpriced LA rental and had fewer axes.
The suspense builds nicely… until it doesn’t. The big twist arrives with a sigh more than a scream, feeling more “I saw that coming” than “I need to sleep with the lights on.”
Still, credit where it’s due: the cast holds it together. The lead actors deliver grounded, emotional performances that make you care—just enough—to keep watching, even when the plot starts checking boxes from the haunted house starter kit.
If you’re in the mood for a mildly spooky ride with decent acting and a heavy dose of atmosphere, 2 Bedroom 1 Bath won’t blow your mind—but it might gently rattle your cupboard doors.
